For two days, the focus surrounding the Lightning was all about who would play in goal for a pivotal Game 5. And when Mike Smith, not Dwayne Roloson, went between the pipes, many openly wondered if the move would be costly.
Well, Tampa Bay's loss in Game 5 had nothing to do with its goaltending and everything to do with the lack of offensive the Lightning failed to come up with in support of Smith, who made his first career postseason start in a 3-1 loss. Roloson likely will get the start when the series shifts back to Tampa for Game 6 on Wednesday.Smith stopped 17 of 19 shots he faced in the start, but because the Lightning failed to solve Tiim Thomas at other end, Roloson will have to be counted on to stave off elimination.Making the gutsy call is something Boucher Lightning coach Guy Boucher felt strongly about for two reasons.
